First Home Owner Grant

Eligible first home buyers may qualify for a $10,000 First Home Owner Grant, which can help reduce the upfront cost of purchasing your first property.

The grant generally applies when you are buying or building a new home, including newly built houses, townhouses, apartments, off-the-plan properties, or substantially renovated homes.

​

To qualify, you must:

​

  • Be purchasing or building your first home

  • Buy a new or substantially renovated property

  • Move into the property within 12 months of completion or settlement

  • Live in the home as your principal place of residence for at least 12 continuous months.

Stamp Duty Concession and/or Exemption

  • Move into the property within 12 months of settlement or completion
